This art journal spread is a total step outside my comfort zone, so very different from my usual style. Yet I love it. Its messy and imperfect, and my lettering skills are lacking. But it was so freeing, and just seemed to flow out of me. I love those kinds of creations, where you just do, without thinking or planning.
This started with a base of gelli print and book text collage, and I love that you can see some of it peeking through from underneath the gorgeous Dash of Red Studio paint. Throw in some messy journaling and doodling with my favourite Sharpie paint pens, and the result makes me all kinds of happy.
Materials: small Dylusions journal, Dina Wakley heavy body paint in Night & Blackberry, Liquitex Basics acrylic in Gold, Claudine Helmuth Studio paint in Dash of Red & Classic Teal, Tim Holtz Worn Text alpha stamps, Sharpie paint pen, Archival Ink in Jet Black, deli paper.
Step outside your comfort zone today and see what happens – you might just surprise yourself!
