Art Journal Share: Beauty In The Rain

I have another spread to share today, again in my small Dylusions art journal. I love working on this smaller scale now and then, it’s great when my time is limited but I still feel that pull toward creating.

This page, while looking simple, actually took longer to put together than I expected. I had come across a Donna Downey video that showed a fun technique of layering old alpha stickers to create texture, and I just had to give it a go. But I found out the old way that my stickers were so old that they just didn’t want to stick! Enter gel medium, and a lot of fussing and fighting, and I eventually managed to get them all down. I have to say, pain though it was, it was well worth the effort!

Materials: small Dylusions art journal, Liquitex gesso, Archival ink in Jet Black, SEI Tumble Dye spray in Turquoise, Stampin Up splatter roller stamp, rubber stamps, random alpha stickers.

Have you ever started a technique and been tempted to give in? Surely I can’t be the only one lol In this case though, I’m glad I persevered.

Happy arting!
